Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners work in all aspects of the psychiatric health care system. Nurse practitioners may work in hospitals, outpatient mental health centers, or private practice. PMHNPs also provide preventative measures to reduce the number of people with psychological illnesses, such as suicide prevention.

Although education can be expensive, once you begin practicing as a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse, it will be well worth your time.
